Introducing Our First Off-Estate Wine: Gigi Sauvignon Blanc

For the first time in Keller Estate’s history, we’ve crafted a wine from fruit grown beyond our estate vineyards. It began last year when my brother stepped into his leadership role in our family business. His challenge was simple: “Let’s make a Sauvignon Blanc.”

My immediate response? “But we don’t grow any!”

Sauvignon Blanc has always held a special place in our family. The inspiration traces back to my sister-in-law, Brigitte, affectionately known as Gigi, who joined our family when my brother married her 44 years ago. I was just ten years old then, but I still remember how her love for Sauvignon Blanc quickly became part of our family gatherings.

To honor her, we named this wine Gigi Sauvignon Blanc. Just as Brigitte brought fresh perspectives and joy into our family, this carefully sourced fruit brings new dimensions to our winemaking story. It’s a reminder that new additions, whether through marriage or through sourcing exceptional fruit from neighboring vineyards, create a beautiful cycle of growth and possibility.

The result is a wine as vibrant and welcoming as Gigi herself: crisp enough to wake up your palate, mineral-driven enough to keep you coming back, and versatile enough to turn any Tuesday into something special.

This isn’t just our first off-estate wine. It’s proof that the best things happen when you step outside your comfort zone.
