Our Estate

Our Story Banner

Our Keller Estate spans 680 acres of rolling hills stretching from Tolay Park to the Petaluma River, an expansive, biodiverse landscape where we grow vines alongside olive trees, California native plants, and grazing sheep. Just 40 acres are planted to our Petaluma Gap vineyard, 36 to olives; the rest is a living expression of our commitment to sustainability, beauty, and heritage.

From beehives and native oaks to striking sculptures and our winery designed by acclaimed Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta, every element on our estate reflects our deep connection to land, family, and the future.

About our Estate

"Since 1989, we've grown grapes in Petaluma Gap, California. When Arturo and Deborah planted the vineyard, experts recommended Chardonnay because the cold climate made ripening uncertain, if needed, the greener fruit could make sparkling wine.

We discovered our grapes' exceptional quality and added Pinot Noir and Syrah. When they decided to make wine, Arturo invited Ana to join, creating Keller Estate Winery. To fully commit to our vineyard, Ana relocated from Mexico to live on our property.

Arturo's Swiss family moved to Mexico in the early 1900s, where great-grandfather Keller met our great-grandmother. "Keller" means "cellar" in German, perfect for our winery name. We give our wines Spanish names to honor our Mexican heritage.

By 2011, we recognized the need to collaborate with our neighboring growers to define our region. This sparked our effort to establish the Petaluma Gap American Viticultural Area. Our teamwork paid off when our region became an official AVA in 2017. Today we're proud of our collective work and the recognition it has brought to our Petaluma Gap wine region."
