Our story begins in 1989 when Arturo and Deborah Keller planted our first Chardonnay grapes. In 1994, we expanded with a small Pinot Noir vineyard on our Sonoma Coast estate.

In 1998, our daughter Ana Keller joined our family winery venture, and by 2000, we produced our first vintage. Ana's dedication to the region culminated in 2017 when the Petaluma Gap achieved recognition as an American Viticultural Area (AVA), a milestone that celebrates the exceptional quality of wines from our unique terroir.

In 2022, we made the commitment to organic farming practices, with official certification expected in 2025. Today, three generations of our family continue crafting wines that honor both our Latino heritage and the distinctive character of the Petaluma Gap.

Adding an artistic touch to every bottle, our family member Grace Keller's original artwork graces our wine labels, making each vintage a canvas that reflects our family's creative spirit.Today, three generations of the Keller family continue crafting wines that honor both their Latino heritage and the distinctive character of the Petaluma Gap.

HONORING ARTURO KELLER

From the vibrant streets of Mexico City to the rolling hills of Petaluma Gap, Arturo Keller lived a life of unwavering determination and visionary excellence. Born and raised in Mexico, he built a successful business, supplying seats to major car companies through sheer hard work and entrepreneurial spirit.

His greatest legacy was not in steel and leather, it was in soil and vine. With the courage to dream beyond borders, he transformed 650 acres of California hillside into a testament to Mexican heritage and cool-climate winemaking. He chose to name every wine in Spanish, proudly celebrating la hermosura de nuestra lengua.
Arturo understood that true excellence comes from honoring one's roots while creating something entirely new. A man who loved elegance and handcrafted wines, he knew that the finest things in life, like family and tradition, only grow more beautiful with time. His legacy continues, proving that with hard work and love, any dream can flourish.

WINE IS A TIMELESS PROCESS THAT RETURNS US TO OUR ROOTS AND REMINDS US HOW THE YEARS PASS WHILE WE SHARE MEALS WITH OUR LOVED ONES.

OUR CONNECTION TO MEXICO

We came to Sonoma via Mexico and proudly call both home. We embrace Latino warm hospitality, vibrant culture, and delicious cuisine throughout Keller Estate. Arturo's Swiss family moved to Mexico in the early 1900s, where his great-grandfather Keller met our great-grandmother. "Keller" means "cellar" in German, perfect for our family winery name. We give our Petaluma Gap wines Spanish names to honor our Mexican heritage and celebrate the cultures that shaped our family story.

MADE FOR BOLD FLAVORS

Cuisines around the world use bold, vibrant spices that can be complex or intensely hot! Mexican cuisine offers incredible flavor diversity which we fully embrace as we develop recipes that create perfect wine pairings. Creating recipes for us means balancing rich spiciness in traditional mole to complement our estate Syrah, finding the right level of bright lime in fresh ceviche to showcase the minerality of our Oro de Plata Chardonnay, or adding silky avocado to enhance our La Cruz Chardonnay. We craft our Petaluma Gap wines to be food-friendly, always seeking that elegant balance that elevates both the dish and the wine.
