March Release: Oro de Plata 2025 — The Artist Series

Spring is here, and so is something new: our first Artist Series release. This March, we're pairing two decades of winemaking philosophy with a bold new vision—Oro de Plata 2025 wrapped in art by Grace Keller.

Gold from Silver

Oro de Plata means "gold from silver" in Spanish—golden chardonnay fermented in stainless steel. We've been making it since 2003, back when skipping oak was considered radical. The wine world wanted butter and toast. We wanted something else: bright, pure, unapologetically fresh.

Twenty-two years later, the 2025 vintage might be our most youthful expression yet. Vibrant citrus, crisp acidity, and that signature Wente clone brightness showing up in full force.

The Wente Advantage

We make Oro de Plata predominantly with Wente clone, known for small berries packed with personality. Think Meyer lemon, jasmine, white peach—aromatics that would get buried under oak but sing in stainless steel.

These tiny grapes deliver intense concentration while staying elegant and light. The 2025 vintage captures that balance beautifully: energetic without being sharp, complex without being heavy.

Meet the Artist Series

This year's label features work from Grace Keller's "Plunge into Color" collection, launching our new Artist Series. It's a natural evolution—our family's passion for wine and art flowing together on every bottle.

Grace's bold, vibrant pieces celebrate color in its purest form. So does Oro de Plata. No oak to mute the fruit. No malolactic to soften the edges. Just stainless steel fermentation that lets the vineyard speak clearly.

Each bottle becomes a small gallery, carrying Grace's vision from our winery to your table. Art you can taste and see.

What's in the Glass

  • Nose: Jasmine and Meyer lemon lead, with hints of white peach and wet stone.
  • Palate: Bright grapefruit and lime zest, followed by ripe stone fruit. The youthful 2025 vintage shows exceptional energy—crisp, clean, refreshing.
  • Finish: Mineral-driven and long. This is chardonnay with nothing to hide behind.

Spring Has Arrived

After winter's heavy reds and rich braises, March craves freshness. Oro de Plata 2025 delivers exactly that.

Pair it with spring's return: fresh oysters, grilled halibut, asparagus risotto, goat cheese and pea salads. Or drink it on its own as an aperitif, the way you'd appreciate a watercolor—for what's there, not what's been added.

The youthful brightness of this vintage makes it perfect for outdoor gatherings, early evening sips on the patio, or any moment that calls for renewal.

Two Decades of Daring

In 2003, making unoaked chardonnay felt like a statement. Today, it feels like common sense. But we've never wavered from the original vision: trust the vineyard, step back, let the fruit express itself.

Now, with Grace's art on the label, Oro de Plata becomes something more—a celebration of family, creativity, and the belief that beauty doesn't need to shout to be heard.

Welcome to the Artist Series

This is just the beginning. The Artist Series will continue to pair exceptional wines with exceptional art, telling our family's story through both.

For now, pour yourself a glass of Oro de Plata 2025. Take in Grace's colors on the label. Taste what happens when a family trusts their vision for twenty-two years.

Gold from silver. Art from simplicity. Spring from patience.

Welcome back to lightness.
